Liberals control speech which is bigger than economic power. Not all media are controlled by extreme right wing. Your sources? Some daily print news media like Washington Times were always known as leaning to the right. But others like the NY Times, Boston Globe and Washington Post are very obviously to the left. A key indicator is refusal to name the race of perpertrators and suspects such that the reader has to use other clues such as names of perps, victims, witnesses, neighborhood involved and YouTube videos to divine the demographic involved. For a very long time now liberals have controlled speech in the US by using fear of being called a racist as a club Based on my own experiences at work and at college, I would trace it back to around 1988 when I returned from Germany and went back to college at a VA public university. That was when I first encountered the term "political correctness.
